Gift Wrapping and Card Making

Photo of my gift wrapping and card.

Yesterday, my cell phone fell out of my pocket when I was getting on the bus! Luckily, a nice person picked it up and called the last number I had dialed; my boyfriend’s number. Luckily again, I had just arrived there at his place. If they hadn’t called, I doubt I would have noticed my phone had gone missing until the end of the day. (Hee hee.)

To thank them I wrapped them a small present and made them a Thank You card. For the present, I gave them pieces of chocolate from Christmas (which is good, but I’ve been having too much of it). I used some tissue paper and wrapping paper, bunching it up at the top and tying a ribbon. I usually default to this style if possible because my box-wrapping skills are … not quite up to par. For the card, I used some plain paper, newspaper, black pen, scissors and white glue. It is pretty simple, but I think it looks great! Next time I will try to locate my rubber cement because the white glue made the paper a little wrinkly.

Close up on the bow!

However, it turns out I could not give it to them directly because they decided to drop my phone off at a corner store that is mutually close to our homes, so I left my present there when I picked up my phone. I hope they return there soon so they can get it! If not, I guess the corner store folk will get to eat it. (And yes, I wrote a nut allergy warning inside the card. ;D )

This small project was partially inspired by Creature Comforts, and their Freebies and Tutorials section which has a selection of DIY/printable projects. While I didn’t use any of their templates for this, I just may in the future. I also want to try their ideas of wrapping soap and chocolate bars with your own wrapping for gifts. Yay!
